Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a specialization that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and contemplative practices to assist clients in reducing problematic behaviors and negative moods. DBT Skills Training focuses on increasing coping strategies and quality of life by addressing emotion regulation issues, learning how to cope with distress and crisis, improving relationships, and using mindfulness to be in the present moment. Mindfulness is a practice of being in the NOW, not in the depression of the past, or the worry of the future.
